Sort contacts by the question they can answer
A franchisor representative, operating franchisee, lender and supplier serve different roles. Organize contacts by the research question rather than placing everyone on one broad outreach list. Respect how each person agreed to be contacted.
Record the date and context of the meeting so that you do not attribute one conversation’s answer to another person. Keep personal information limited to what the research process actually needs.
Make the request specific
Refer to the issue discussed and ask for a defined next step: current disclosure materials, a clarification of participation requirements or a conversation about an operating process. Avoid asking every contact for a general opinion about whether you should buy a franchise.
Do not send sensitive identity or financial records to an unverified address simply because you met someone at a booth. Confirm the official application channel and the recipient’s role first. An event introduction is a beginning, not a substitute for verification.
Maintain the research record
Add responses to your comparison notes and mark unanswered questions. If a contact does not respond, try an appropriate official route without treating silence as evidence about business performance. This editorial guide describes an organized follow-up process and does not authorize automated outreach or publication of another person’s remarks.
Put it on paper
- Match each contact to a specific question.
- Use agreed and verified communication channels.
- Keep responses and unresolved issues in the same record.
