Bring a specific operating description

Explain services, premises, vehicles, staff, equipment and customer interactions. Provide the franchise agreement’s insurance requirements and ask which additional information is needed. A broad industry category may omit an important part of the proposed work.

Ask about the adviser’s qualifications, relevant experience and commercial relationships. Clarify whether proposals are limited to particular insurers or programs and how the adviser is compensated.

Request an intelligible comparison

Compare coverage scope, exclusions, deductibles, conditions, claims support and premium. Ask which requirements each proposed policy addresses and what remains outside it. The lowest premium alone does not establish an appropriate arrangement.

Identify who maintains evidence of coverage and monitors renewals. Discuss changes that should trigger another review, such as new services, equipment or premises. A policy based on an old description may not reflect the operation as it evolves.

Know the claims route

Ask how to report an incident, what records are needed and who supports the process. Keep verified contacts available to the responsible team. This guide supplies questions for selecting advice and does not recommend coverage or certify a policy for a particular business. Obtain professional guidance for your actual circumstances.

Put it on paper

  • Describe activities and contractual requirements precisely.
  • Compare scope and exclusions alongside price.
  • Clarify renewal and claims responsibilities.
